Easy Sugar Free Oreo Truffle Recipe

As Christmas time nears closer and closer, many people start to feel the joys of the holidays. As many of you also know, there is nothing better than spending time with friends and family, as well as enjoying all of the tasteful foods and desserts of the time. As a diabetic, however, I usually try to refrain from diving right into the fudge brownies and other treats that my loved ones prepare during holiday parties and such. Well, the other day one treat was prepared that was sugar free. As many of you know, diabetics love to look for those hallmark “sugar free diabetic desserts.” Anyways, from reading many of the other posts here on easy diabetic desserts you may get the idea that I am something like MacGyver. So, what I found the other day was quite tasteful and sugar free, or as sugar free as a diabetic dessert can get. So the idea is to take the delicious, mouth watering, savory oreo truffle and make a sugar free version of the recipe.

The kicker was the introduction of sugar free Oreo cookies. Yep, if you were not aware there is a version of sugar free Oreo cookies. The ingredients for this simple diabetic desserts are sugar free Oreos, sugar free chocolate, and cream cheese. I usually use just one block sized package of cream cheese per package of oreos to make these truffles. First the cookies need to be crushed. A blender is the ideal piece of equipment for this job. Once the sugar free cookies have been crushed, it is then time to add the cream cheese. Once all that is mixed up nice, it is time to dip them into the melted sugar free chocolate. After doing so, all that is needed is some cooling time in the fridge. As you can see, this is a very easy oreo truffle recipe. This little recipe is a tasty one, but probably has a decent amount of carbohydrates. Anyways, it would be a good one to present to your doctor if you were thinking about trying it. Have a happy holiday.
